The “community” concept is explored here via a lens that focuses on interaction and communication in and around a Panjabi complementary school, and family linguistic repertoires via a heteroglossia lens (Bakhtin 1981). Analysis of parent-teen daughter interactions identifies identity (re)production and generates a comprehension of the intricacy of cultivated “communities” and related belongings.
