Annotation

Indigenous West African languages are debarred in formal economy, where knowledge and expertise are almost solely rendered in ex-colonial European languages (i.e. English, French and Portuguese), to the exclusion of the majority of the people. This study underlines the role of micro language planning in poverty relief within the West African sub-region via indigenous language capital development and the cutback of illiteracy and disease.
