This paper discusses Slavic impact on Eastern Yiddish syntax via the example of vos relative clauses. The finding that this construction's origin can be traced back to Slavic, rather than to Semitic or German, is debated regarding the more general contact condition of Eastern Yiddish. Semitic may be overvalued in the sphere of syntax, whilst the role of Slavic has been undervalued in many former accounts.
