Annotation

This paper explores the enduring impact of 3/4 century of anti-Haitian propaganda on the language attitudes and ideologies of present-day youth in the northern Dominican Republic. Attitudes towards Haitian Creole (or French, almost purely linked to Haiti) reflect wider negative evaluations of its speakers.
