Annotation

This paper elaborates the market apparatus and institutional restrictions that fashion the assessment and social spread of Spanish in El Paso, Texas. It is found that in sectors with low abilities and low linguistic potency, linguistic management policies are ''Spanish-only'', whereas in sectors requiring greater skills and regulated professional communication, there are more limitations on how Spanish functions in workplace use.
