Annotation

Consistent with the call for an ethnographically based, multi-centric comprehension of several cosmopolitanism varieties, labelled presumptive, distinctive and transgressive, this paper tracks the rise of a “bona fide cosmopolitanism” in Taipei's linguistic landscape (LL). The paper shows that cosmopolitanism in the LL is best grasped as multi-centric, recursive, and very circumstanced.
