Annotation

As Linguistic Landscape (LL) research widely disregarded gender and sexuality, two significant power axes by which public spaces are organized, grasped, parleyed and challenged, this paper explores a small data set of trite sexed signs. It advocates the incorporation of queer theory into the analytical system of Linguistic Landscape studies, as it offers a valued theoretical perspective via which to disclose the power operations in public space with respect to gender and sexuality (and other social categories) .
