This paper collates the discourses on Islam produced by the actual and two former Malaysian Prime Ministers, each of them simultaneously presidents of the main political and chiefly Muslim party. (Dis)similarities among the speakers are disclosed as to their Islam references. As discourse is ideologically driven and socially created, structures and references shift as the nation's socio-political setting develops.
