Annotation

Based upon an interethnic interactions corpus, this paper explores linguistic proof of a rising nonwhite pan-ethnicity in post-colonial Namibia, analyzing patterns of linguistic convergence and separation/maintenance across ethnic combinations (e.g. code-switching patterns concurrently comprising English, Afrikaans, and a Namibian ingroup language). An apparent Nonwhite pan-ethnicity shows signs of a socio-historical disunity between northern and southern ethnicities.
