Annotation
This study explores whether metaphorical action simulation affects “offline” discourse comprehension at a more global level. Results disclose that action simulation impacts recognition and judgment times concerning explicit comprehension measures, and accuracy and judgment times concerning implicit comprehension measures. Findings indicate that a simulation system could influence comprehensive information processing grounded on inference and interpretation to a greater degree than surface processing explicitly offered in the text.
