Annotation

Two preschooler groups recognized breaches of the Cooperative Principle at a better than accidental level, albeit neither age group succeeded in the false belief (theory of mind) task at a better than fortuitous level. Results also indicate that false belief comprehension is not a prerequisite for identifying infringed Cooperative Principle maxims in regular conversational exchanges.
