This discursive analysis of a corpus of internet discussion forums on Gypsies in the UK, reveals that opposition to Gypsies may constitute an acceptable prejudice, as fatal effect of Gypsies’ conduct. The consequences of this outcome for the discursive literature on taboos against, and refutations of, racism are debated.
