This paper explores Chinese university students' Spanish as a foreign language acquisition (in immersion and home culture) from a view based on Gardner’s slightly restructured socioeducational model (to fit Chinese culture). The model is also evaluated via cross-cultural examination in two samples from the U.S. and China.
