Annotation

This study juxtaposes the classic sociophonetic target approach and two dynamic approaches for exploring regional variation patterns, i.e. the multiple time point and the regression approach. The speech material contains monosyllabic full vowel Dutch words read out by Dutch and Flemish speakers of Standard Dutch. Dynamic approaches surpass the target approach in exposing regional vowel discrepancies.
