This conversation analytic study explores a hypothetical narrative, recounted by Aditi, an Indian woman, on the effect of Hindi and English language instruction on her life. The study demonstrates how Aditi employs two narrative planes -the narrated world and the interactional narrating plane- to criticize dominant discourses about English speakers.
