Annotation

This paper explores the role of children as research participants in applied linguistics and considers the restrictions of classic research ‘on’ and ‘about’ children, employing research studies as examples. Second Language Acquisition (SLA) needs to broaden its research agenda by concentrating on children as active social agents, fit to take more liable roles in research that regards their own language acquisition.
