Annotation

This paper inherently criticizes the reasoning of the English as a lingua franca (ELF) movement from the viewpoints of Marxism, globalization theory and poststructuralism, as it materializes ‘ELF’ as an apparently steady form, mixing a rationalist, positivist and objectivist epistemology with a transformationalist, postmodern and poststructuralist receptivity which is both immeasurable and undertheorized.
