Annotation

Using a U.S.-wide medical consultation corpus, this study shows that physicians employ more enforcing, authoritative-sounding mandative adjective extraposition (MAE) forms in their recommendations as they acquire professional experience, despite interactional and illness severity constraints fostering indirectness.
