Annotation

This paper concentrates on links between character, multicultural attitudes, and ethnic outgroup reserve experience in the Netherlands, amidst four divergent ethnic groups: Turkish/Moroccan-Dutch, Antillean/Surinamese-Dutch, Mixed Western immigrants, and Dutch majority group members. The results advocate a mediation model in which in all groups, multicultural attitudes moderate the link between character traits, education level, and age as antecedents, and outgroup distance as product. Multicultural attitudes and outgroup reserve appear essential in comprehending intergroup dynamics within multi-ethnic societies.
