Annotation

Using Kim & Ball-Rokeach's (2006) Communication Infrastructure Theory and Allport's (1954) contact hypothesis, this paper deals wih attitudinal or communicative factors that could affect South Los Angeles' residents’ perceptions of “Black-Brown” intergroup relations. Interpersonal contact, mostly in Latinos, appears to influence intergroup perceptions. Additionally, various communication-linked variables show a notable, and sometimes negative, impact on intergroup perceptions.
