This mixed methods assessment of acculturative experiences of Iraqi refugees to (two distinct communities in) the U.S., indicates extant social isolation, language obstacles, and religious and ethnic oppression, which adds to permanent hopelessness and anxiety as participants fail to imagine an own future.
