This cross-cultural study of social networking (benefits) of female managers in the information technology (IT) sector in China and Finland demonstrate: an effect of female-to-male dyads in both contexts, chiefly situated within power- and work-linked networks, whereas female-to-female dyads are mainly ‘social’; China has rather little networks whereas Finland has networks marked on function grounds; and structure and participant strategies in network(s)/(ing) diverge in the two contexts.
