Annotation

This study shows that the more stigmatized long-term immigrant Turkish ethnic minority group in Bulgaria concentrates more on the mainstream culture than the less reviled shorter-term immigrant Turkish-Dutch group, in opposition to prognoses. Present acculturation models need to watch local issues like the immigrant group's history, more systematically. A multigroup path model in which mainstream culture adoption is similarly linked to life content for both groups appears a good fit.
