Annotation

This paper uses a lens model approach to discuss the use and perception of humor orientation (HO) on Facebook (FB) profiles. Profile owners' cues, discerned by strangers as indicative of a humorous instance are defined, whilst political talk in status updates appears negatively linked to users' HO and observers' opinion of users' HO. It is proposed that cues diagnostic of users' HO thematically concentrate on daily life events, popculture referrals, and self-related anecdotes.
