Annotation

This study explores the cultural and linguistic maintenance of Chinese Americans of Hoisan-wa heritage, as they use humor and laughter in talking (in especially home and family related words) about their cultural and linguistic heritage, thus establishing a counter-hegemonic affective stance to repel nested negative ideologies on Hoisan-wa.
