Using Theory of Argumentation in Language and Theory of Polyphony, this paper discusses French and Spanish polyphonic configurations that are revealed via the use of particular voice traits. It examines the clear polyphonic dimension of intonation in order to show that locutors’ utterances themselves disclose the enunciation's (im(polite)) orientation.
