This paper considers the offline evaluation of target genuine vs. mock impoliteness utterances, and especially the role of situational/discourse contexts, and prosodic and gestural patterns, in their interpretation. The results indicate that mock impoliteness activates a more intricate evaluation process as phenomenon at the interface between polite and impolite conduct.
