Annotation
This article adjusts Hahn and Hatfield's (2011) methods for group face to dyadic interaction. A Discourse Completion Task reveals no meaningful difference in apology rates between the US and Korea in either the triadic or dyadic studies, and an intricate interplay of each factor with gender. The findings advocate the importance of face management of individuals and groups not in direct interaction, which has consequences for the differentiation of face and identity.
