Annotation

This study explores listenership (comprising backchannel feedback) and its impact on intercultural communication in 30 dyadic conversations in English between Japanese and American participants. The findings, inter alia, indicate that listenership insures more attention in English as a foreign language (EFL) classes in Japan.
