Due to the institutional efforts of a long-term linguistic policy a more overall effective achievement in the three languages (Basque/Spanish/English) and a more propitious attitude towards English have led to a higher trilingual identity (in engineering students) at the University of the Basque Country. The Basque language contends well for its persistence alongside co-official Spanish and omnipotent English.
