Annotation

This article explores if and how proficiency in previously known languages affects Grade-6 students' French as a second official language (FSOL) proficiency in English-dominant Canada. Immigrant bilingual students obtain higher FSOL ability scores than Canadian-born monolingual English or bilingual speaking students, even when taking into account language of origin competence.
