Annotation

Sequential bilinguals, in casu English-speaking children learning L2 Welsh, surpass monolinguals in attentional control tasks, but not in metalinguistic awareness and metarepresentation tasks. Attentional control thus appears the first cognitive element favored by early sequential bilingualism.
