This ethnographic study explores the theoretical and practical dares of language education policy (LEP) elaboration and execution in the English-lexified Creole contexts of three Jamaican schools with contradictory teacher stances towards Jamaican Creole, and classroom practices strongly affected by national examinations, which generated a de facto LEP.
