Annotation
This article explains the theoretical suppositions and empirical support of the (older adult) bilingual advantages perspective, reconsiders what is known about language, cognitive control, and aging in general, and advocates a multifactorial perspective on bilingualism that underscores the concept of neuroplasticity over that of plain bi- versus monolingual group comparisons.
