Annotation

Two separate studies explore how older siblings affect their US-born toddler sibs' language use in bilingual homes. Toddlers with older siblings have a more advanced English language development, as the older siblings appear to use English more in addressing toddlers than with other household members, and in the presence of a school-aged older sibling, mothers also raise their use of English with their toddlers.
