This paper discusses first- and second-order analyses of the speech act of naturally occurring, authentic disinvitations. First-order discussions feature disinvitations as highly unwelcome, and advice postings incite would-be disinviters to waive the act. For all that, the meeting of certain speech community norms permits disinvitations to be executed fittingly with ample relational work.
