Annotation

Based on audio recordings, this historical pragmatic study discusses how the BBC 4 radio talk show Desert Island Discs' diachronic change since the 1950's, from an interview format to a shared narrative format, is rendered in the precise details of the turn-taking system with diverging turn length and the application of question intonation and hesitation markers.
