This study examines the use of quotation to outline a diversity of multisensory events as participants watch and then reproduce a set of video clips covering human speech and animal vocalizations. Direct quotations include high levels of (positively correlated) vocal and bodily demonstration. Findings back a Multimodal Hypothesis where information from both channels derives from one key concept.
