Annotation

This study addresses interpersonal conversational accommodation and links it to the dialect situation in West Sweden, in order to review the potential connection between micro-level accommodation and a given speech community's linguistic situation. It is argued that Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) and interactional analysis are valuable for modern sociolinguistic theory as they can help account for variation and, maybe, the processes underlying linguistic change and stability.
