Annotation

A critical social semiotics framework is used to discuss how Malay language choice in top three English newspapers’ advertisements in Malaysia, conveys a Malay-Muslim ideology, expressing Malay ethnic values, culture and worldview, and a socio-political ideology of concord, which can be considered as both social message and governmental political device.
