This paper explores the symbolic and material formation of an authenticated register of Övdalsk, a local Scandinavian language, developing in a situated dealing with grammatical artefacts, viz. Descriptivist texts. Via an inquiry of metapragmatic discourse production, it examines the indexically implying connection between artefactual objectivation and new language registers.
