Character mapping analysis shows how 78 adult professionals, partaking in the Serbian reform program for Roma Pedagogical Assistants, employed various narrative genres to grasp the reform and their involvement in it. It is argued that narrating constitutes a supple cultural tool for moderating individual–societal relations.
