Annotation

This paper indicates that whereas both African American English (AAE) and Standard American English (SAE) speakers can discern and create the phonetic cues that distinguish BIN and been, solely the AAE-speakers precisely deduce that (stressed) BIN (an AAE tense/aspect marker) conforms with the remote past.
