Annotation

This study shows that three “flawed” female heroines from three popular American television series, (viz. Weeds, Nurse Jackie, and Saving Grace), given their addicton to drugs, pills and alcohol, defy stereotypic assumptions about fit “feminine” conduct for white heterosexual Anglo-American women via their use of “bad language,” covering taboo words and swearing, whereas the effect of such cultural representations relies upon a series of factors.
