This analysis of a Nepali comedian’s dialect stylization in a stand-up comedy show carried out for the diasporic Nepali community in Bochum, indicates that via the creative use of diverse Nepali linguistic practices, important identity work is performed both in the narrating (shared identity, humor) and in the narrated world (stereotypical identities of Nepali dialect speakers).
