Annotation

This paper asserts that “passing” is a handling of equivocally embodied features, linguistic practice, and validation by other speakers, and examines “passing” talk and practices by post-migrant generation, diasporically-inhabitant Moroccans who try to pass unmarked by migration when haggling in Moroccan markets. A unique case is presented in which haggling “luck” relies upon silence.
