Drawing on a case study of a Catholic Sorbian parish in eastern Germany, this paper asserts that the Sorbian language maintenance process is more intricate than the typical “top-down” vs. “bottom-up” dualism and requires observation of the interaction of diverse processes between and within simple and organized language management.
