Annotation
This study argues that multilingual South African youth uses a hybrid language, -a mix of indigenous African languages, labelled here “fuzzy languaging logic”-, to identify and ethnify, selecting who they wish to become outside classic linguistic and strict ethnic connections. There is a breach between (monolingual) classroom language use and extramural practices.
