Annotation

Though Pahari speakers constitute one of the biggest non-European ethnic diasporas in Britain, with over 60 years of settling, they remain mainly misconceived as a community with a common ethnolinguistic recollection. This paper elucidates why Pahari has stayed mostly absent from minority language discourses in Britain and documents efforts from within the diaspora to deal with this lacuna via the representation and promotion of Pahari within a British setting.
