Annotation

Ethnically distinct inhabitants of Oman broadly employ English as lingua franca. EFL teachers appear highly sensitive towards the linguistic diversity of their students' immediate milieu and foster equal diversity in course materials and as acquisition models. Self-identifying non-native English-speaking teachers favor more intensely specific inner-circle accents (especially British English).
